How do I break into tech sales?

Most people start in a BDR role, and plan for a step back in title or base to get in. New graduates look for BDR and SDR internships, rotational programs and new-graduate programs. Career changers turn their years into reasons a hiring manager can trust and target companies that sell into the industry they know. The full guide is How to break into tech sales.

What is TrackRec?

TrackRec is the career platform for salespeople in the US and Canada. It turns a salesperson's results into a verified track record, shows where they stand on pay against sellers in the same job and puts them in front of hiring managers who search on numbers. 20,000 salespeople use it.

How does TrackRec verify a sales record?

Barney, TrackRec's AI, asks twelve questions per role, about ninety seconds each, and records revenue, quota attainment, deal size, sales cycle, segment and territory. The seller then asks a client, a colleague or a manager from the role to confirm it. Each person gets one email and one click.

Who can see a TrackRec profile?

The seller chooses one of three settings: private, public with sign-in, or an open link. Recruiters hiring for the seller's current employer are kept out of their matches. Nothing is posted to LinkedIn; LinkedIn is only how the seller signs in.
